Artist Spotlight - Rina AC Dweck

Maybe Richard Avedon was onto something when he said "my portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph." There's something special looking at the back of your camera screen, and seeing the connection in the eyes between you and your sitter. Sure it might feel awkward getting your picture taken by a stranger, but know this, I come with the best intentions.

Rina A.C. Dweck is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her new exhibit, on display at Governors Island Art Fair every weekend in September 2018, explores the muddle state of feminism.

My particular favorite walking through the space were the hundreds of eye lashes she affixed from the window to the walls.

Wide shot of Rina and her works of art. I can only imagine how long it takes to setup and take down, as the attention to detail is unbelievable.

Eye lashes, artificial nails, feathers, hair, everywhere.

And if you look in the cabinets and doors of this remodeled kitchen courtesy of Rina, you're in for a surprise.
